SUMMARY : The Collins College Envoy connects and travels to off-site educational partners in K-12 and community colleges to recruit a diverse population of students for The Collins College of Hospitality Management. This position will primarily focus on traveling off-campus to promote and recruit students. They will conduct class presentations and/or table at events to provide meaningful information about the hospitality program at Cal Poly Pomona. The end goal of this position is to build the college's pipeline, increase college awareness, and increase the number of applications received. This position will be part-time and seasonal based on the operating calendars for K-12 and community colleges. Travel required to successfully execute this role will be approximately 90% of this position.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
Travel to, represent, and promote the college at in-person events such as school site visits, college fairs, parent meetings, community forums, and other outreach events.
Coordinate and travel to represent the college at various outreach events including, but not limited to, college fairs, high-school visits, parent nights, and special events.
Travel may include, but not limited to, driving to schools and events in Southern California.
Cold call schools to inquire about the opportunity to present in one of their classes and/or college fair.
Keep informed of a broad range of CPP policies, procedure, and regulations.
Track, report, and collect data on site visits and potential students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of CSU admission cycle, financial aid, and general university information
Enthusiasm and pride for CPP and Collins College

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills
Time management and organizational skills
Demonstrate good judgment and willingness to learn
Ability to work with diverse populations
Evening and weekend work may be required
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management
Ability to interact with a diverse student population, staff, and the public
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California driver's license and auto insurance.
Must be able to pass a background/livescan due to working with minors.
Language Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, families, and educators. Fluent in English.
Technical Skills:
Ability to use Microsoft Office software, Zoom, E-mail and phone.
