The Process Engineer serves both administrative and technical functions.
The administrative functions include project organization and documentation of material trials, plant technical visits and training programs
The technical functions include new mold start up, process and machine troubleshooting, process development, continuous improvement, etc.
Organize and provide technical training to plant personnel
III Essential Functions
Act as technical injection molding lead in plant
Write and Manage all Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects for IM dept and other facility projects as needed
Coordinate equipment moves, upgrades and installations
New tool start up and qualification
Investigate equipment failures/faulty operations and implement actions to correct
Continuously seek opportunities to improve equipment performance and operations.
Train maintenance technicians on proper machine operation and injection molding process
Maintain machine and tool preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and quality issues
Manage 3rd party tool work in conjunction with Corp. Tooling Engineer
Enforce safety rules daily and actively intervene to correct recognized unsafe actions and conditions
Various other duties as assigned
IV Job Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on injection molding process experience
Must be able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics/drawings
Experience with continuous improvement programs
Ability to specify molds/machines for application
Familiarity with ISO 90001
Must have good leadership skills/supervisory experience a plus
Must be able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Mechanical Engineering or Technical degree a plus
Willingness to travel occasionally.
V Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 55 lbs. overhead.
Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform duties.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Vision: 20/20 corrected and normal hearing range.
