Job Description:


The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for up to two part-time Assistant Instructor positions for the Spring 2025 term, each on a one-term basis, outside the tenure stream, with an anticipated start date of 8 January 2025. Each Assistant Instructor will assist in one of two lecture courses: BIOSC 0350 Genetics or BIOSC 1000 Biochemistry. Duties will include helping the faculty member during lecture with active learning, teaching four recitations per week, grading, and holding office hours. Minimum qualifications are a BS/BA degree in biology or related field and teaching experience (work as an undergraduate TA or as a tutor would be acceptable); preferred qualifications are an MS in biology or enrollment in a biology graduate program, solo teaching experience, training in biochemistry, genetics, or molecular biology, or a PhD in biology.
