What you will do

The Maintenance Technician III-2nd or 3 rd Shift is responsible for performing all responsibility necessary to trouble shoot, service, adjust, repair and maintain related equipment supporting manufacturing processes. Able to perform a variety of tasks included but not limited to monitoring and adjustment of manufacturing equipment to improve production throughput, equipment efficiency, implementation of corrective action, and calibration. Able to perform routine cleaning, housekeeping and non-routine maintenance with adherence to all safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures. Acts as a leader on the floor and provides back up for the maintenance supervisor when necessary. Ability to develop and communicate the maintenance plan with equipment owners and maintenance personnel. Develops detailed job task lists for preventative maintenance work and planned work orders. Able to perform data analysis for equipment such as mean time between failures and pareto downtime from various equipment. Supports reliability engineering in performing risk based analysis on equipment and identifying opportunities for improvement. Able to function as subject matter expert (SME) in multiple areas of expertise, and functions as a point of contact for Operations, support functions and employee inquiries. Point of reference for Audit and acts as subject matter expert. High level understanding of all manufacturing equipment with in depth knowledge in multiple areas of specialty. High level knowledge of machine shop, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment used in manufacturing. In depth knowledge of inter-relationship of mechanical, electrical, and PLC-based systems. Deep level understanding of integration of manufacturing equipment into SCADA, MES, CMMS. Ability to train others in multiple areas of expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs the final checks and the double checks for manufacturing equipment as indicated in the preventative maintenance procedure and standard operating procedure.

• Perform a combination of manual tasks including but not limited to sorting, inspecting, assembling, and mechanical servicing. Accurately complete paperwork and electronic transactions for all documentation requirements including but not limited to CMMS transactions, paper and electronic logbooks.

• Lead/partner with Engineering for equipment installation, setup-up and start-up. Perform and document equipment repairs as per standard operating procedure directives.

• Startup and shutdown equipment as per procedures to ensure proper operation. Partner with equipment owners to gain alignment on the maintenance schedule and optimize equipment availability for normal production as well as project work and shutdowns. Ability to plan scope of work, execute plan and direct others.

• Follow Environmental Health and Safety procedures during startup, shutdown, trouble shooting, and operation of equipment.

• Adjust equipment to optimize performance.

• Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.

• Able to order and receive material and perform the required identification and use (i.e. RFI system and basic CMMS). Partner with buyer to have schedule meet parts supply availability.

• Disassemble equipment to facilitate cleaning and reassemble.

• Perform manual cleaning of maintenance equipment and room/suite.

• Ensure collection of waste cleaning materials in the shop and manufacturing suites in appropriately designed and labeled containers.

• Utilize control systems and appropriate instrumentation to clean major equipment (CIP/COP). Ensure system effectiveness and calibration.

• Lead 5S implementation for maintenance shop areas as assigned.

• Ensure clean equipment and workspace at task completion, and in assigned maintenance zone at end of shift.

• Assist management through change and transformation activities.

• Facilitates departmental meetings and may assist in the coordination of other scheduled meetings. In absence of management, attends meetings on his/her behalf.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/secondary education or equivalent and/or associates degree. Certification in Instrumentation , Machinist, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics from a Technical School or military training.

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a regulated and automated manufacturing environment.

• Proven ability to interact with other operators, management and groups inside and outside of manufacturing

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Proficient knowledge of Production Automation Systems (CMMS) is required.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in a Pharmaceutical/GMP environment is preferred
