Job Summary



Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Performs a variety of fiscal, human resources, and organizational responsibilities related to IU Payroll, Kuali TIME, HRMS, KFS, Travel, and Buy.IU systems in support of the Office of Enrollment Management Responsibility Center; processes monthly and biweekly payroll, submits and monitors requisitions and contracts, and serves as the purchasing and procurement card coordinator and reconciler with Chrome River.

  • Assists staff with continuous training and education with regards to payroll, travel, and purchasing; researches and answers questions and resolves issues as needed.

  • Applies proper University procedures to fiscal, accounting, and purchasing transactions.

  • Establishes and performs a variety of audits and reconciliations to ensure records and transactions are accurate and appropriate.

  • Performs a variety of administrative and financial tasks in support of the Office of Enrollment Management Responsibility Center which consists of the Offices of Admissions, Registrar, Student Financial Assistance, First Year Experience Programs, Scholarships, Student Central, and several other support units.

  • Coordinates and leads projects as assigned by the Director of Fiscal Affairs.

  • Provides fiscal and payroll support for staff in the Vice Provost's area as well as several other departments.

General Responsibilities


  • Using knowledge and application of accepted procedures and standards, performs financial and administrative tasks related to managing the daily and long-term financial and/or administrative operations of an organizational unit or an academic, research, and teaching department within a school or college.

  • Makes recommendations on policies and guidelines for division/department activities.

  • Monitors expenditures and statement of accounts to ensure regulatory compliance and fiscal integrity.

  • Manages general appropriation, endowment, federal and non-federal grants and contracts, and gift funds.

  • Develops, plans, and makes recommendations on special projects, which may include space allocations, staffing, equipment purchases, and long-range plans.

  • Prepares operating and project budget drafts independently and/or in coordination with other finance staff.

  • Regularly explains financial concepts to non-financial employees.

  • Monitors division/departmental budgets and resolves or recommends resolutions for any significant deviations from approved budgets.

  • May conduct a variety of human resources activities including employment, labor relations, benefits, training, and classification for unit/department.

EDUCATION



Required



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE



Preferred



  • 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to clearly present material and make it accessible to a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to interpret financial documents from an accounting, policy, and practice perspective.


Preferred



  • Ability to expeditiously review and analyze detailed information.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and focus with frequent interruptions.

  • Experience reading, reviewing, and interpreting financial reports and dashboards.




Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.



Advertised Salary



$48,000 - $50,000 per year
