Position Summary
The Data Intelligence/Data Science Delivery Lead will guide and manage our data science and analytics efforts, specifically tailored to federal government contracts, with a focus on the Department of Defense (DoD). In this leadership role, the Data Intelligence/Data Science Delivery Lead will drive the delivery of data-driven solutions that address complex challenges, utilizing platforms such as KNIME, Databricks, and Qlik to extract actionable insights for DoD missions. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the government customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Practice leadership:
Develop and execute the strategic vision for the data intelligence/data science practice, emphasizing DoD and federal government engagements.
Establish and implement best practices, standards, and methodologies for consistent and high-quality data science and analytics delivery.
Mentor and develop a high-performing team of data scientists, data engineers, and analytics experts.
Client engagement and solution development:
Serve as a trusted advisor to DoD clients, translating mission requirements into comprehensive data intelligence and science strategies.
Develop and oversee the implementation of data models, machine learning algorithms, and analytics solutions that support IT security, operational readiness, and mission-critical objectives.
Collaborate with government stakeholders to deliver insights from operational time series data and security-related data sets.
Project oversight:
Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data intelligence projects, ensuring that models are designed, tested, and deployed efficiently while meeting stringent security and compliance standards.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions with broader IT and operational systems, ensuring alignment with mission needs.
Ensure adherence to DoD security policies and guidelines, such as FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD STIGs, in all project deliverables.
Innovation and thought leadership:
Drive the development of innovative data models and analytics frameworks, leveraging tools such as KNIME, Databricks, and Qlik for data visualization and analysis.
Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, particularly within the context of defense operations, and introduce new techniques and platforms as needed.
Publish thought leadership content and represent the organization at industry conferences, contributing insights specific to IT security and operational data analysis.
Domain expertise and technical excellence:
Lead efforts in modeling and analyzing operational time series data sets for performance monitoring, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance.
Oversee projects that utilize data science to enhance IT security, applying machine learning to threat detection, security posture assessment, and risk analysis.
Work hands-on with platforms like KNIME for data processing, Databricks for scalable data analytics, and Qlik for data visualization to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Collaboration and partnership:
Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, IT operations, and cloud infrastructure, to develop holistic solutions for DoD clients.
Build strategic partnerships with industry and academia to stay ahead of emerging technologies in data intelligence and analytics.
Compliance and security:
Ensure all data-related activities comply with DoD regulations and security protocols, maintaining the highest levels of data integrity and confidentiality.
Lead the implementation of secure data handling practices, particularly when dealing with sensitive defense-related operational and IT security data.
Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
Submit regular Status Reports to manager as required.
Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
Complete required compliance training as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Occasional travel may be required.
Knowledge and Critical Skills
Proficiency in data science platforms like KNIME, Databricks, Qlik, or similar tools for large-scale data processing, analytics, and visualization.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a focus on strategic objectives.
A robust background in the DOD data science realm, along with domain experience in IT security and operational time series data sets.
Education & Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
A minimum of 3-5 years working with or in support of the Department of Defense, with a deep understanding of defense mission requirements, data environments, and IT security challenges.
Proven experience leading data science teams in delivering impactful solutions, with a focus on IT security and operational data analysis.
Demonstrated experience working with operational time series data sets, developing models for predictive analytics, and enhancing IT security through data-driven methods.
Strong knowledge of federal security standards, including NIST guidelines, DoD STIGs, and other relevant regulations.
Experience managing projects in agile environments and implementing DevSecOps practices.
Expertise in deploying data science solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) while ensuring compliance with security best practices.
Background in integrating data intelligence efforts with IT security frameworks and operational monitoring systems.

Must have an active Secret clearance.
Work Environment
Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
