*This role is eligible to be performed remotely, however, if you reside within 60 miles of Lands’ End’s offices in Dodgeville, WI or New York, NY, you will be expected to collaborate onsite in a hybrid fashion for up to 12 days per month.

The Senior Manager of Data Science will lead the data science team dedicated to driving impactful business strategies through data-driven insights. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the development and application of advanced algorithms to mine and analyze data from company databases, delivering optimization and insights to enhance product development, marketing strategies, and business operations. The Manager will guide the team in using predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis to improve business performance and elevate the customer experience in a fast-paced, agile environment. Responsibilities


Team Leadership and Development



  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Set team objectives and align them with company goals, ensuring that data science initiatives are impactful and aligned with organizational strategy.


Data-Driven Business Optimization



  • Oversee the development of algorithms and models to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights to drive decision-making across departments.

  • Direct efforts to optimize marketing and operational processes, providing insights that support the executive team in data driven decision-making,

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, Operations, and Executive teams, to understand business needs and deliver targeted, data-based solutions.


Predictive Modeling and Advanced Analytics





      • Lead the development of predictive models that support key initiatives, including customer experience optimization, revenue generation, and targeted marketing.

      • Collaborate with other teams to create robust ad targeting models that increase engagement and conversion, contributing to business growth.


      Agile and Adaptive Approach



      • Drive an agile approach to data science initiatives, promoting iterative testing, learning, and adaptability to enhance the team’s responsiveness to business needs.

      • Ensure that projects are executed efficiently, with a focus on continuous improvement and rapid delivery of high-value insights.


      Qualifications



      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

      • 5+ years of experience in data science, with a track record of successfully leading teams in a business-focused environment.

      • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.

      • Strong proficiency in data mining, machine learning, and predictive modeling.

      • Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).

      • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.

      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with business and technical teams.

      • Familiarity with agile methodologies and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

      • Experience in a consumer-focused industry, particularly in optimizing customer experience and revenue strategies.

      • Knowledge of big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

      • Strategic Vision: Ability to see the “big picture” and guide the team to deliver data solutions aligned with business strategy.

      • Analytical Mindset: Expert in dissecting complex data, identifying trends, and translating them into actionable business insights.

      • Team Leadership: Proven success in managing, developing, and motivating data science teams.

      • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.


      Leadership Responsibilities

      • Serve as liaison between upper management and team, conveying organizational goals and expectations.

      • Address conflicts or issues within the team promptly and effectively.

      • Manage team resources, including workload distribution and project assignments.

      • Ensure optimal utilization of team member’s skills and expertise.

      • Collaborate with upper management to establish team goals aligned with organizational objectives.

      • Contribute to the development and implementation of department strategies.
