Description: Our client is currently seeking a Plant Human Resources Manager to serve as an HR Business Partner for a manufacturing facility in Cook County, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will work closely with and guide plant management in areas of employee relations, labor relations, leadership development, change management, performance consulting, DEI, conflict management, legal compliance, and payroll/HRIS oversight. This position serves as a partner, coach, and resource for the entire staff at the site.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Partner with the plant leadership to improve business results and meet objectives.
Primary plant process owner for benefits and payroll.
Plan, develop, and implement wage and salary programs to align with business strategy and external competition.
Develop effective staffing plans to hire the right people in the right jobs at the right time.
Consult with employees at all levels through listening objectively and then providing solutions that support positive business results.
Guide plant in leadership development, performance management, change management, resource planning, salary planning, etc.
Educate and monitor management actions and decisions to maintain compliance with legal requirements.
Develop and maintain working relationship with Union officials and adhere to terms of labor contract (monitor day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions).
Support and participate in Union contract negotiation sessions.
Evaluate changing demographics, and legal and technical developments in the field, and develop new programs to meet the corporation's needs.
Participate in the development of corporate and departmental goals and objectives including encouraging positive corporate culture.
Facilitate Organizational Health Initiatives.
Review personnel actions including merit increases, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. Ensure all actions comply with internal and external controls.
Ensure worker safety
Manage and track safety training, plant incidents/accidents, and safety programs, plus case management for worker's compensation.
Assist business unit HR leadership in projects as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field with progressive experience in human resources management.
5+ years' experience in Human Resources leadership in an industrial setting.
Experience with Union workforce including managing to collective bargaining agreements.
Experience independently identifying, developing, and leading key strategic projects to meet corporate business goals.
Experience formulating effective approaches to improve employee engagement, problem solving, and dispute resolution.
Experience and fluency with HRIS and payroll software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Experience working in a team-based matrix environment at a high level.
Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to communicate with all levels of employees, especially during difficult and challenging situations.
Knowledge in the area of talent acquisition, performance management, and retention.
Experience preparing and delivering training to employees on HR policy.
