Overview: The Supervisor, Production - Logistics is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of the logistics department in a production facility. This includes managing the movement of materials, inventory control, and the coordination of inbound and outbound shipments. The Logistics Supervisor leads a team to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely transportation and storage of materials, while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This position requires strong organizational and leadership skills, along with experience in supply chain management and logistics operations.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and lead the logistics team, including training and scheduling.

  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to ensure accurate inventory management.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, working closely with suppliers, production teams, and shipping personnel.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies in logistics operations.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers to optimize transportation routes and reduce costs.

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate data entry in inventory management systems.

  • Work closely with the production and procurement teams to anticipate material needs and avoid shortages or delays in production.

  • Analyze logistics data to identify trends and implement process improvements for more efficient operations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to shipments, transportation delays, or inventory discrepancies.

  • Ensure the proper maintenance of all logistics equipment, including forklifts, trucks, and other material handling tools.

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on logistics performance, including delivery times, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency.

  • Implement and maintain best practices in logistics operations, including lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with other departments to align logistics activities with overall business goals.




Qualifications:


  • Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of logistics processes, transportation, and warehouse management systems (WMS, ERP).

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in logistics operations.




Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field




Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and heavy equipment.



The base salary range for this role is $66,100 to $99,200. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
