About the Role

The Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene North America business is currently searching for a Manufacturing Team Leader (salaried supervisor); this position will be based out of our facility in Middletown, OH.

What You Will Do

The Manufacturing Team Leader is an integral part of the site and works closely with production employees and those in other departments to drive optimal production results and continuous improvement, while maintaining a safe work environment for all. The Team Leader is ultimately responsible for the operation results and development of employees on shift.


  • Uphold Essity’s Beliefs and Behaviors;

  • Responsible for the safety performance of employees and serves as a role model. Leads efforts that promote a safe work culture. Identifies and corrects safety hazards and unsafe acts. Confronts unsafe acts and takes timely and appropriate action. Has daily contact with employees regarding safety;

  • Responsible for assigned shift’s overall performance to include productivity, quality, efficiency, cost control. Establishes priorities and encourages continuous improvement following zero loss flowchart to solve problems. Identifies needs and measures items that impact productivity. Ensures the collection and right reporting of performance KPIs;

  • Communicates expectations to employees and evaluates performance. Communicates matters of importance with supervisor, peers, and others on the management team as necessary. Shares knowledge and ensures the transfer in the team;

  • Enforces and administers consistent application of all company policies. Ensures the team works to standards. Participates in the selection process and the development of new employees;

  • Directs, coaches and trains employees to improve skills, and to stimulate individual growth in relation to achievement of objectives. Assures the team members have the necessary education and training to effectively participate on the team;

  • Builds relationships with employees, and creates an environment which promotes and supports open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team work;

  • Incumbent may be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are


  • Must be able to work weekends and rotating shifts;

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent work experience can be substituted for the degree;

  • Five years experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment preferred;

  • Strong coaching skills;

  • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions, as well as handle conflict and confrontation;

  • Good planning, organizing and prioritizing skills;

  • Mechanical trouble-shooting skills;

  • Knowledge and experience using manufacturing best practices and applied improvement processes.
