Position Summary:



This position is responsible for coordination and oversight of safety, health, and environmental policies and compliance for CMA CGM Group entities located in the United States.



Essential Duties / Responsibilities:




  • Work with Head Office Safety, Security, and Environmental office to maintain, evaluate, and improve safety, health, and environmental policies for CMA CGM Group global operations in the United States (marine and inland). To include leading U.S. international and domestic cargo regulations/procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Act as a liaison to U.S. governmental agencies, including but not limited to Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security, Coast Guard, Department of Transportation, California Air Resources Board, Environmental Protection Agency and port authorities. Participate and represent U.S. Group entities for industry working groups, including but not limited to Pacific Merchant Shipping Association and World Shipping Council, on safety, health-related, and environmental regulation and compliance in coordination with the VP U.S. Compliance and relevant internal teams.
  • Responsible for leading the application, verification, and maintenance of various environmental incentive, benefit, and corporate recognition programs for North America.
  • Lead, maintain and ensure compliance with CTPAT program for all Group U.S. entities and brands, including but not limited CMA, ANL, and APL. Lead review and validation of partner/customer supply chain security surveys for adherence to C-TPAT Minimum Security Standards. Lead CTPAT training program. Lead providing subject matter expertise regarding CTPAT compliance in response to inquiries from customers, vendors, suppliers or other 3rd parties.
  • Lead internal incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions and continual improvement in business processes for safety, health, and environmental compliance. Lead working with U.S. Risk Management Team and Audit Team to make recommendations to mitigate exposure or risk, where applicable. Review activities to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
  • Lead CARB Shore Power compliance program, including record keeping, data entry and data integrity. Lead organization and compilation of supporting documents for relief measures, compliance reporting, CARB audits and/or internal audits. Act as a liaison with CARB staff, in coordination with VP U.S. Compliance and U.S. Government Relations team.
  • MISCELLANEOUS RELATED DUTIES OR PROJECTS AS REQUIRED



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:




KNOWLEDGE

  • Familiarity with the maritime and intermodal transportation industry and regulations, including Customs- Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, along with applicable U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Environmental Protection Agency, California Air Resources Board, Department of Transportation and Trade Compliance requirements.
  • Advance working knowledge of International shipping logistics and transportation.
  • Experience leading compliance programs & reporting, including training as key to program support, internal investigations, and environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with legal concepts, statutes, and regulations, related to ocean carriage and admiralty.
  • Strong skills for creating streamlined reporting systems & working with global teams.

Education and Experience Requirements:




  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of general work experience. 6-8 years Industry experience
  • Experience leading safety and environmental compliance and quality assurance programs.
  • Organizational Resilience, continuity of operations planning, interview and investigation skills, disaster recovery planning, vulnerability assessment, emergency management and environmental response.
  • Experience working closely with U.S. governmental authorities.
