The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for the collection, validation, analysis, and review of all data and documentation for a consumer loan application. The incumbent will prepare and audit loan documents, fund loans to member accounts and payoff debts as outlined in loan documents, complete post-closing requirements of the loans, communicate and provide quality service to members, employees, creditors, and vendors about the loans being processed.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for reviewing consumer loan application for accuracy and required documentation
Communicates with the Member, Originator, Vendors, and Creditors regarding the processing status of the loan.
Communicates with loan originator or member to request any missing, incorrectly executed or required documentation.
Communicates with Retail and Member Contact Center at all stages of the loan process.
Responsible for meeting service commitments for closing, funding, and booking consumer loans.
Responsible for generating appropriate loan closing documents for both Retail and Member Contact Center loans.
Accountable for auditing all closing documents to ensure correct execution according to closing checklist.
Responsible for monitoring pipelines and following up to acquire all documentation as needed.
Responsible for updating the XP2 system to record documentation that is requested and received and following up to ensure the requests are completed.
Responsible for submitting the completed loan file to responsible for submitting the completed loan file per company retention policy.
Responsible for the accurate presentation and analysis of consumer loan applications within targeted time frames and current lending guidelines
Responsible for staying current and following all compliance guidelines to ensure compliant consumer loans.
Accountable for understating and applying government laws, regulations and Everwise policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.
Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union.
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Data entry skills
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask files daily
Understanding of financial services and consumer lending regulations and guidelines.
Knowledge of home equity loans is a plus.
Knowledge of lending regulations a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
1-year recent experience in consumer lending.
