The Printing & Mailing Specialist produces, assembles and distributes all phases of the graphic materials, and assists in carrying out other functions within the department.
Essential Job Functions:
Operates machinery including digital presses, paper cutter, collator, folder, high speed copier, bindery equipment, electronic mail processing, and sublimation equipment.
Prepares lay-outs for imposition and pagination sequence.
Applies knowledge to determine quality of finished product prior to processing.
Performs routine preventive and corrective equipment maintenance on printing, assembly and related equipment.
Keeps production records.
Lifts and delivers printed materials, supplies, purchased goods and mail, as assigned.
Attends off-site conference and meetings; provides logistic set-up, delivers materials, loads and unloads supplies as needed.
Carries out responsibilities with a positive, cooperative spirit.
Uses related software, such as Adobe Acrobat Professional with Plug-Ins, InDesign, Microsoft Office 365 Suite of Products and Applications, wide format software with contour cutting capability, sublimation software, NCOA mailing software, AccurioPro, and Fiery software.
Assists in ITS Department as needed.
Ability to lift a minimum of (50) pounds.
Specific Responsibilities:
Maintains familiarity with department procedures.
Provides production records.
Coordinates with job requester to determine best lay-out, format and process as requested.
Trains other personnel on equipment as requested.
Works cooperatively to assist with other P&M department responsibilities.
Assists with MTA facilities when needed.
Assists in loading, unloading and receiving goods, paper supplies, etc.
Distributes materials and provides general assistance at conferences and meetings.
Process incoming and outgoing mail for all departments and subsidiaries.
Maintains familiarity with postal regulations.
Assures postage meter is adequately maintained and that postal material is properly posted and mailed in a timely manner.
Assists with receiving, distribution, and shipping of materials and supplies. May assist in recording inventory.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, Technical/Vocational training preferred.
3-5 years of printing and related experience.
Experience in operating software driven digital equipment.
Familiarity with assembly and distribution procedures.
Willingness to learn and operate new equipment and procedures.
Ability to meet deadlines
Valid driver’s license required for transporting and delivering materials via company van.
Ability to interact positively with members and staff.
Willingness to assist in other areas as needed.
May assist with supplies and inventory records.
