Ledgent is working with a well-known construction company in the northwest metro adding a Project Cost Accountant to their team. This role is open due to an upcoming retirement and will provide ample cross training before the individual leaves.
Direct Hire. $80,000-$90,000 (D.O.E.) + bonus eligibility. Flexible scheduling, unlimited PTO, ample growth potential and a great team! Primarily on-site with situational remote flexibility.
Job Duties:
Project Information Management:
Update and maintain project details in Vista Viewpoint ERP system.
Ensure budget revisions reflect change orders, supplemental agreements, and other modifications.
Cost Monitoring and Analysis:
Track project costs, including vendor payments, internal labor, equipment, and material charges.
Review and allocate receipts from customers, ensuring proper distribution between general contractors and subcontractors.
Work with Project Managers to resolve issues related to project estimates and payments.
Cash Flow and Payment Management:
Prepare and analyze cash flow projections for projects.
Coordinate and process payment vouchers for vendors and subcontractors.
Monitor Retainages Receivable from customers and Retainages Payable to subcontractors.
Variance and Margin Analysis:
Prepare variance analysis by comparing actual project performance with budgeted costs.
Monitor expected job margins and assist in managing the monthly job schedule.
Review and monitor billings in excess of costs and estimated earnings, as well as costs in excess of billings.
Reporting:
Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, and annual job cost reports to management and project teams.
Specifically ensure accurate and timely preparation of the monthly job schedule.
Address information requests and questions from management and project personnel.
Project Closeout and Compliance:
Perform administrative duties related to closing out construction contracts.
Assist in collecting outstanding retainage and finalizing project documentation.
Miscellaneous and Administrative Duties:
Process miscellaneous billings as required.
Assist with other duties as needed to support project and financial management.
Strong understanding of budgeting, cost analysis, and reporting for construction projects
Ability to work closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate project tracking and resolve financial discrepancies
Ability to prepare reports on time and manage multiple projects simultaneously
