How will you make an impact?


The Manufacturing Operator II (Spray Finisher II) thrives on challenge and continually looks for opportunities to learn and grow. This colleague performs Machine operation and integration according to the production schedule. They will also provide effective training to other Machine Operators and personnel and ensure that safety and quality standards are maintained.



A Day in the Life:





  • Operates electrostatic paint spraying equipment to apply a coat of powder paint to parts, cabinets, and panels according to design specifications and company quality standards.

  • Receives instructions on parts to be painted and fills paint hopper with specified powder as needed, matching paint number with part number.

  • Checks spray gun adjustments such as air/paint mixture, pressure gauges, and fluid control.

  • Coats parts with powder paint in the prescribed manner.

  • Monitors quality of coating and operation of the spray equipment and cleans equipment daily.

  • Works as a member of a painting team to paint parts efficiently.

  • Cleans paint booth daily and assists with removal of waste paint from drain pit and dust collector periodically.

  • Assists in loading or unloading parts on conveyor line as time permits.

  • Assists with the repair of metal components and performs touch up as the need arises.

  • Performs all duties using required safety procedures and equipment according to company policies and practices.

  • Cleans immediate work area.

  • Performs assigned preventive maintenance tasks (PMs) at scheduled date and time.


Keys to Success:



Education




  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.


Experience





  • Minimum of three to six months of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience.

  • Background in precision mechanical operation and low volume, complex manufacturing processes preferred.

  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement a plus.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities





  • Consistent track record in successfully working in a team of 8-10 colleagues.

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Ability to read tape measure/ Calipers or other measuring devices. (or ability to learn)

  • Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.

  • Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language, and educational backgrounds.
