Job Summary:

Assists with the daily operating procedures of Distribution Services. The job duties include but are not limited to: receipt and delivery of all campus mail and freight, event set-up's, surplus pick-ups, auction set-ups, campus shredding, furniture moves and contract postal unit support.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist with the scheduling and fulfilling of freight deliveries, internal moves, event set-ups, deliveries, and disposal/re-purposing of surplus items.* Assist with surplus pick-ups, work orders, deliveries and disposal/re-purposing of surplus items and surplus auctions.* Handle incoming freight deliveries for Property Management.* Research shipping and receiving information and accurately enter data into the internal tracking system.* Assist with the document destruction and hard drive shredding process, scheduling, storage, and transfer of material to the vendor.* Maintain and establish effective relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.* Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures for proper handling of incoming assets, accurate documentation of information for UT-Share input and communication with the encryption department and OIT.* Provides support for Mail Services and the UC Post Office in processing mail according to USPS standards with accuracy in all phases of the process.* Performs all other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School graduation or equivalent with two (2) years of warehouse experience.

  • One (1) year of forklift experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior people management experience, including solid competencies in talent identification and development, coaching and mentoring.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Analytical skills and knowledge necessary to identify opportunities and make recommendations for improvements based on a solid understanding of the business and competitive landscape and market trends
