Job Description:

Responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining industrial processes within the manufacturing environment. Creates strong process design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure optimal efficiency, product quality, and safety.

Position Summary:

  • Work is typically performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and production lines.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Process Design & Optimization:
    Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:
    Investigate process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to resolve operational issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Process Monitoring:
    Monitor process performance using data analysis and process control techniques to ensure consistent quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects (such as Lean or Six Sigma) to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve product consistency and yield.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    Ensure all processes meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines. Identify and mitigate risks associated with the process to protect employees and equipment.
  • Collaboration & Training:
    Work closely with cross-functional teams (such as R&D, quality control, and maintenance) to support the design and scale-up of new processes. Provide training to operators and other team members on new processes or equipment.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain clear and thorough process documentation, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical reports. Prepare regular progress reports for management.
  • Technology & Equipment:
    Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and equipment to enhance process efficiency and capacity.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    3+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or related industries.

Experience in Aseptic Processes is preferred.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of process engineering principles (e.g., heat transfer, fluid dynamics, material science).
    • Familiarity with process control systems, automation and SCADA systems.
    • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, AutoCAD).
    • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Certifications (optional):
    • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) certification (if applicable).
