Job Description:

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility. This includes ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products, maintaining safety standards, managing production costs, and leading a team of employees. The Plant Manager will work closely with various departments, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics, to achieve operational goals and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Primary Accountabilities:

  1. Operations Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing plant to ensure smooth production processes.
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and deadlines.
    • Monitor production output to meet quality and efficiency standards.
    • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the plant.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Manage, coach, and develop the plant staff, including supervisors, operators, and support teams.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  3. Quality Control:
    • Ensure that all production meets established quality standards and specifications.
    • Collaborate with the quality control department to address issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of quality control systems.
  4. Budgeting and Cost Management:
    • Develop and manage the plant budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • Analyze and monitor production costs, working to reduce waste and improve cost-effectiveness.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromisingproduct quality or safety.
  5. Process Improvement:

    • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to identify opportunities for process optimization.
    • Implement best practices for production, equipment maintenance, and labor utilization.
  6. Maintenance Management:
    • Ensure proper maintenance of plant equipment and machinery to minimize downtime.
    • Oversee maintenance schedules and manage the plant's maintenance team.
    • Coordinate with vendors for repairs, parts, and equipment upgrades.
  7. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
    • Conduct regular safety audits, training, and drills to ensure adherence to safety policies.
    • Investigate any workplace accidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  8. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, including production output, quality metrics, and cost analysis.
    • Use data to drive decision-making and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Make recommendations for improvements to senior management.
  9. Customer Relations and Service:
    • Work closely with the logistics team to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
    • Address any production or quality issues that impact customer satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master's in Engineering) is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
    • Proven experience in overseeing large teams, managing production lines, and achieving operational goals.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, plant safety regulations, and quality control systems.
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
    • Experience in Aseptic Processing is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in data analysis, production planning, and ERP software.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex operational problems.
    • Financial acumen with the ability to manage budge and reduce costs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar quality management system.
  • Experience in [specific industry or type of manufacturing, e.g., automotive, food processing, electronics].
  • Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards and compliance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

Work Conditions:
