Position Summary:
The Teachers College Henderson Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation invites applications for a tenure track faculty member to teach in the dynamic, growing, and diverse K-12 Physical Education teacher preparation program (PETE). This position will focus on teacher preparation with possible supervision of field experiences.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver comprehensive physical education curricula
Conduct lectures and practical sessions on various physical activities and sports
Assess student performance and provide feedback to help them improve
Design and implement fitness programs tailored to individual student needs
Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate physical education with academic programs
Advise students on health, nutrition, and safe exercise practices
Maintain and ensure the proper use and safety of physical education equipment and facilities
Participate in faculty meetings, educational conferences, and professional development opportunities
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong understanding of current fitness trends and educational technologies • Ability to lead and mentor students effectively • Demonstrated ability to conduct both lectures and practical physical training sessions • Experience in teaching and managing a diverse student population • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Capacity to engage students and foster a healthy learning environment • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in physical education • Commitment to continuous professional development • Proven organizational and time-management skills • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff

Minimum Qualifications:
ABD (All But Dissertation) required and completed doctorate preferred from a regionally accredited university in physical education, related health sciences, or related fields. Experience in college teaching, advising, and using instructional technology and innovative teaching strategies is expected.
One caveat with the ABD is that a completed doctorate must be completed one year from the starting date in fall 2025.
