Responsibilities

Under the direction of IT Management, the Junior Systems Administrator will be responsible for hardware, software maintenance and monitoring, and IT related projects.

  • Responsible for various hardware and software resources including Windows Server, Linux, VMWare, AWS, SAAS, Remote Desktop, Active Directory, and Group Policy Management.
  • Understanding and support for Microsoft Office 365 components
  • Experience troubleshooting and installing servers, firewalls, routers, switches, access points, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and subnetting.
  • Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, and directory shares.
  • Establish and maintain system installation and configuration procedures.
  • Perform system monitoring and verifying system security, integrity, and availability.
  • Perform daily backup tasks and ensure file systems and data are backed up.
  • Perform user account administration and licensing management.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and restore from hardware or software failures.
  • Identify problems and produce business solutions for projects and operational needs.
  • Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, manuals, and IT policies.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other IT assignments, on-call rotation, and some after-hours systems maintenance.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must possess good project management skills.
  • Proven knowledge of IP networking and NIST Security Framework.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot using the OSI model and scientific method.
  • Ability to draw inferences and follow procedures to solve problems.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and handle stress in a manner that is acceptable to the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and technical documents.
  • Ability to write clearly in standard business correspondence.
  • Ability to work with managers and communicate ambiguous concepts clearly.
  • Ability to present to groups across the organization.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

SUPERVISION

Position does not directly supervise other employees.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline and 4 years of system administration experience required. 2+ years of experience performing enterprise backup and recovery procedures, designing, and deploying complex systems. 2+ years of experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Management. A combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

MCSA and AWS certifications preferred.

MCSE, Network+, Linux+, VMware, are a plus.
