Overview
As a water and wastewater treatment engineering group manager, you'll engage in the growth of our local practice and advance your career as a business leader in the region. You’ll lead the design of water and wastewater treatment projects, manage and mentor design staff, coordinate with multiple disciplinary teams on a variety of projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and company standards. You'll devise new approaches to unique problems, prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, and monitor work. The water and wastewater treatment engineering group manager reports to the national wastewater technical practice leader.
Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects (treatment, pumping systems, wells, reservoirs, etc.) and use quality management process to minimize risk and maintain quality of work. Participate in risk assessments as well as project failure reviews to identify lessons learned and adjust procedures for subsequent projects. Coordinate with operations staff to assist with workload balancing project management tasks.
Manage clients and identify and pursue opportunities for water and wastewater treatment projects across Arizona and coordinate with Marketing and Business Development to develop strategies for increasing market share. Your role will be integrated with business development teams as a primary support on strategic pursuits and key teaming discussions. Lead proposal processes.
Build and sustain a diverse team of high-performing professionals for the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects.
Support, advocate for, coach, and review of your teams' participants in their pursuit of career development paths.
Actively engage in relevant professional associations through committee work, authorship of articles, papers, and presentations, and board positions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, chemical, construction management, business or public administration, or related field for subject matter area.
Minimum ten years’ of water and wastewater treatment engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, in addition to discipline specific tools and software such as biological and hydraulic modeling and design tools, and the ability to teach and train others in said software.
