Your Role:
The Senior Production Scientist at MilliporeSigma will work in a project-focused environment as a member of a multidisciplinary Process Development (PD) group responsible for development and qualification of manufacturing methods to support new product introduction and optimization of existing processes. Job duties include:
Design and perform laboratory experiments and evaluate data to ultimately develop reliable manufacturing and/or QC methods.
Regularly communicate project status to the PD, project management and Operations teams
Perform and troubleshoot initial processing of newly developed and/or scaled up procedures with the Operations teams to qualify new methods.
Aid in training and transfer of newly developed methods to the receiving Operations team to ensure long term success.
Write clear instruction in operating procedures for Operations' use in ongoing future manufacturing.
Apply Root Cause Analysis tools to address manufacturing issues.
Design and develop new products focused on providing solutions for customers in the life science field.
Develop manufacturing processes that include synthesis, isolation, purification, and characterization of organic molecules. Characterization may include the following analytical techniques: NMR, HPLC, GC, MS, TLC, IR, UV-VIS spectroscopy.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Organic Chemistry, Engineering, Biochemistry and other scientific fields
5+ years of academic and work experience with synthesis, isolation, purification, and characterization of organic molecules
1+ years of experience in HPLC operation and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD. in Organic Chemistry, Engineering, Biochemistry, and other scientific fields
Experience in independent lab research or chemical manufacturing
Background using AKTA purification systems and Unicorn software
Experience applying the following chromatography techniques: ion exchange, reverse phase, size exclusion, and normal phase
Knowledge producing small molecules via bio catalysis
Manufacturing experience above bench scale
Competent with protein purification and/or isolation of small molecules by natural extraction
Experience maintaining LC/MS instrumentation
Biochemistry or molecular biology experience
CR experience
Conjugation experience
