Job Summary

Oversee and manage the Engineering groups for Operations. The group includes; Project Engineers, Process Engineers, and Validation Engineers. Supervise the engineering team at each location to maintain all production equipment and all related equipment and devices at or above required capacity and efficiency. Responsible for providing Engineering and Capital Projects support to Readycare Manufacturing facilities. In addition to capital projects management, focus will be safety, quality and production improvements thru lean initiatives. Responsible for development and implementation of Capital projects for the plants; working with each facility to develop cost-saving projects. Performs project feasibility study and evaluation for the Capital projects and plant initiated projects

Job Description

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for developing and implementation of lean initiative in plants. Determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products.


  • Provide engineering studies, forecast operating costs of department, develop products costs and prepare Capital budget requests. Analyze costs related to capital expenditures to determine breakeven points, payback and associated hard and soft savings.


  • Identify ways to increase operational productivity thru Lean Manufacturing initiative, and cost saving projects for the plants and operations.


  • Responsible for specifying, purchasing and installation of equipment and parts in an efficient way to minimize disruption to production.


  • Perform complex assignments to develop new and/or enhance existing procedures, statistical analysis, inspections, and validation activities. Contribute to the organization's process improvement activities.


  • Develop an efficient way of Cleaning in Place (CIP) and ensure all the facilities are maintaining sanitization control. Responsible for AS400, Bill of material and router maintenance.


  • Conduct training, when appropriate, on engineering concepts and tools. Responsible for maintaining/developing the Preventative / Predictive maintenance program for the sites.


  • Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.


Required Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering).

Work Experience


  • At least 6 years of experience in Manufacturing / Supply Chain.


  • At least 4 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.


  • Advanced skill levels in technical writing, research paper writing and/or experimental design.


  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Access (for example: modifying default field properties, creating a subform, adding a control button, modifying query criteria and query totals, using conditional formatting and/or viewing data relationships).


  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).


  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: changing picture styles, customizing animation and/or setting automatic slide timings).


  • Basic AS400 or ERP systems knowledge.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CAD experience.
