Overview
We are recruiting a biochemist or biophysicist to be a part of Insmed's research group. In this role you will play an important part in the development of novel classes of small molecule inhibitors and biologics. As a member of a small team of Insmed scientists, you will perform biophysical measurements, biochemical assays, and other routine laboratory tasks driven by the purpose that you can make a difference in improving people's lives.
Responsibilities
Conduct biochemical and biophysical characterization on small molecule inhibitors and biologics.
Record experimental results in an electronic notebook system.
Provide insights on experimental design and suggest modifications to methods to address specific needs of a program or target molecule.
Perform protein expression in E. coli and mammalian cell culture.
Purify recombinant proteins.
Assist in general laboratory tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements:
This role requires a BS in Biophysics or Biochemistry and is 100% onsite.
Industry experience is highly desired (1+ years), but will consider candidates with exceptional academic lab instrumentation experience as well.
Mastery of one or more of the following techniques/instruments is required: SDS-PAGE, Dynamic Light Scattering, Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), Thermal shift assays, Protein crystallization, Mammalian protein expression, AKTA FPLCs, UV/Vis spectroscopy, laboratory automation systems (NT-8, Biomek, Opentrons, etc.), cell culture, aseptic techniques, basic microbiology.
Ability to independently and methodically follow protocols and workplans with an attention to detail.
Routinely perform laboratory calculations.
A desire and ability to learn new technologies.
Capability of working both independently and within a collaborative environment.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly.

Salary Range
$68,000 - $90,467 a year
