Intertek-PSI is currently seeking exceptional Undergraduate and Graduate level Engineering students for entry-level graduate positions and internship opportunities in the Building & Construction industry to start their fulltime work assignment during the upcoming Spring, Summer, or Fall term (2024-2025).

  • Intern (Engineering, Technical, or Construction): Enrollment in an accredited /ABET engineering program
  • Intern (Environmental Services): Enrollment in an accredited /ABET engineering program OR other enrollment in other Science-based degree program
  • Staff Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited / ABET school is required; EIT/EI preferred
  • Environmental Services Professional: Bachelor's Degree in Science-based program from an accredited school is required

What you'll do: As a new graduate, your job will include performing a variety of assessments (both in the field and laboratory), create written reports, review project plans and specifications prepared by others, attend client site meetings, perform on-site observations, collect samples, perform testing procedures, and various other activities. You will receive hands-on training and learn how to solve real world problems, while helping to ensure quality and safety for all.

Geotechnical Engineering


  • Assist clients in identifying geohazards, and determine the safest, most resilient, and affordable earthwork and foundation solutions
  • Provide insights on site characteristics and soil's response to applied loads and stresses using collected data points, combined with numerical modeling and engineering judgements to inform the design, construction, and maintenance of new developments and existing assets
  • Perform preliminary geotechnical studies to provide the basics of site and soil characterization and preliminary reports on expected site conditions and foundation requirements
  • Conduct studies to provide foundation recommendations depending on the type of soils encountered and the structural loads of the project

Civil Engineering /Construction Services

  • Ensure the materials and the installation processes used in construction projects meet client expectations and any applicable regulatory requirements/ standards set by industry associations or governing bodies
  • Use a wide range of sampling procedures and destructive/non-destructive testing methods to verify the quality, strength, and durability of construction materials like concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregates, steel, roofing, and masonry
  • Work in an accredited materials testing laboratory, recognized by organizations such as A2LA. the AASHTO Accreditation Program, and individual state's Departments of Transportation divisions
  • Provide materials testing and inspection solutions suited to meet the client's project needs, under any contract or delivery method, and find efficiencies to save time or spending

Environmental Services

  • Collaborate with technical team and regulatory agencies to provide services to help businesses understand and meet requirements, reduce liabilities, and ensure safe operations
  • Conduct Phase I or II ESAs to provide detailed analyses, including soil vapor surveys, water quality testing, and hazardous waste characterization to help clients assess their environmental impact, ensure regulatory compliances, reduce risk, protect the health and safety of employees, and create management and remediation plans
  • Identify/evaluate potential health and environmental hazards for clients in a laboratory environment that holds national and state accreditations
  • Perform various asbestos surveys to sample/ identify the location/extent of asbestos-containing materials and provide written test reports to identify any required remedial investigation
