Position Summary:

The Director is a key leadership role at Rochester Regional Health and has operational responsibility for the Applications Development. The role is responsible to lead the application development team, oversee the creation of applications, and provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the development process. The role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and an unwavering commitment to deliver high-quality applications. The role brings strong knowledge and experience in application architecture, design, functionality, performance, security, and accessibility. The Director's scope of responsibility is RRH system-wide.



Key Responsibilities:

• Talent Management: Effectively recruits, retains and develops talent for continuous support of the aligned system business areas. Fosters a team-based environment that collaborates across multiple disciplines to focus on continuous improvement and engagement. Monitors and recognizes performance of team members and supports people in professional development. Engages with team members to answer day to day operational questions and provide support and guidance.


• Operational Leadership: Participates in the overall management of the Information Services department including the development of long-range strategies. Partners with senior leadership and prepares and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress reports to accomplish strategic priorities and initiatives. Manages operational issues and routine customer escalations to assure a high level of user satisfaction with departmental performance. Prepares and manages budgets and aligns resources to development projects efficiently. Leads in a matrix environment to contribute to departmental success, departmental solutions, and support security needs.


• Technical Leadership: Leads as a productive principal developer with strong background knowledge in front-end and back-end development and code deployment processes. Oversees overall system architecture and development of design decisions. Implements quality assurance and control measures and develops and maintains comprehensive development documentation. Provides expertise across a full range of development systems and cloud service platforms and technologies to enhance leading practices and policies as it relates to software development. Provides technical guidance and problem solving support.


• Project Management: Guides projects from conception to implementation via Core Project Management and SLDC methodology. Designs and develops robust application architectures. Develops leading practices and tools for project execution and management to include planning, resource allocation, and deadlines adherence. Delegates tasks and responsibilities appropriately to team members, and effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders clearly and timely.

• Experience with server libraries and MVC web frameworks
• Proficient with Microsoft development tools like Visual Studio and VS Code
• Knowledge of application architecture, design, functionality, performance, security, and accessibility
• Familiar with Azure and AWS cloud services
• 5 years of experience in a leadership role preferred.



Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering required.
• 3 years of Information Technology experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: L - Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; requires occasional walking, standing or squatting.



PAY RANGE: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
