In this role, you will be a Workplace Law Group attorney advising Archbright’s member and client employers on their most complex labor and employment law compliance issues, as well as conducting workplace investigations and representing management in collective bargaining and labor hearings.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience practicing labor and employment law in California, Oregon, or Washington and be knowledgeable in all aspects of federal and California, Oregon, or Washington state employment law. Knowledge of employment laws and bar licensure in additional states is a plus.
Archbright is based in Seattle, WA and many of our employees reside in the PNW. This position is able to be done remotely as long as the candidate is agreeable to working on Pacific time zones. There will be at least two times per year that travel to the Seattle area will be required for full company events and potential for more with advance notice.
We can accept candidates from all US states except Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia due to various business laws.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Advise and counsel employers regarding Federal, State, and Local employment and labor law compliance.
Build strong client relationships with senior executives, managers, and Human Resources
professionals in a variety of industries and work together to proactively identify and address areas of potential legal risk, develop and implement mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with employer objectives and the law.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including confidentiality agreements, severance agreements, and employment agreements.
Investigate employers’ compliance concerns and complaints of discrimination, harassment, and
retaliation and draft reports regarding the results of those investigations.
Represent employers as the lead management negotiator in collective bargaining, as well as advise and represent employers regarding union contract disputes, grievances, labor arbitrations, and NLRB matters.
Speak at public events on employment and labor law topics as subject matter expert.
Conduct employer onsite and public training in areas of labor and employment law.
Create current and accurate employment and labor law content for training, public speaking, and Archbright’s mozzo platform, following brand guidelines.
Review employer handbooks using Archbright guidelines and technology tools.
Perform special projects, including enhancement and development of new legal services.
Attend Workplace Law Group and Archbright meetings and events.
Regular and predictable attendance during business hours.

Essential Qualifications for the Role:
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form at multiple levels within member organizations.
Extensive knowledge of Federal and California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho employment law.
Extensive knowledge of labor law, both private and public sector.
Ability to pivot as necessary from one project to the next and deliver within deadlines.
Ability to achieve utilization goals set by Workplace Law Group and Archbright.
Strong customer service skills.

Required:
Juris Doctor
5+ years’ experience practicing labor and employment law in California, Oregon, or Washington
Preferred:
Collective bargaining and labor hearing experience
Experience practicing employment law in other states
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
Required: Bar License for any state
Preferred: Bar License for California, Oregon, Idaho, or Alaska
Technical Skills:
Required: Excellent MS Office Suite experience, particularly Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel
Preferred: Experience using SharePoint

The full salary range for this role is $120,738 - $181,107 annually. The hiring range for this role is $135,830 - $166,015.
