Job Title: Manager, FP&A - Portfolio Strategy & Insights

Department: Corporate/CPXO FP&A

Position Overview:

Insulet Corporation is looking for an experienced and motivated Manager to join our growing FP&A team. This newly created role will provide financial leadership to the Portfolio Strategy & Insights VP as well as the New Offer Innovation VP. This role will provide financial and business decision support to the key leaders of their respective organizations. This individual will be responsible for all financial planning, reporting and analysis for this group and help establish robust tracking, dashboards, and analytics. This role will assist in forecasting processes, including the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long range planning, analyze results and partner with other members of the finance and executive team to ensure that current period financial objectives are achieved. In addition, this role will be responsible for developing financial business case models for new products to help understand full P&L impact to the company. This position will report to the Director of Portfolio Strategy & Insights, FP&A.

Responsibilities:

• OpEx Forecast and Analysis / Reporting

- Own, Develop, and Improve the budget/forecasting processes for Portfolio Strategy & Insights as well as New Offer Innovation functions. Continuously monitor operating expense activities to ensure that financial commitments are met. Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce costs through data-based insights.

- Financial Reporting: Provide the leadership team with monthly financial reporting and insightful variance analysis on a consistent basis. Highlight areas of opportunity/risk to budget/forecast on a regular basis. Work with your business partners to understand real time impacts to budget to help inform our overall financial health.

- Develop robust Workforce planning (headcount and/or contractors) process for New Offer Innovation function through developing strong, collaborative business partnerships. Influence processes through the financial lens and ensure WFP processes are well structured & simple, yet detailed enough to provide valuable insights/information.

- PO review/approval and accruals

• CapEx Forecast and Analysis / Reporting

- Develop CapEx (incl. capitalized labor) budgeting & forecasting processes for both Portfolio Strategy & Insights as New Offer Innovation functions

- Provide insights as to Capex investments and related depreciation implications over the 5 year STRAT horizon and beyond

• Business Case Development

- Lead business case development for new products to create transparency and confidence on the impact potential Products would have to Insulet's full P&L (revenue through net income)

- Ensure business case models are flexible for a variety of scenario analysis, are well structured, and are dynamic enough for quick updates. Create the ability to efficiently answer questions on all aspects of Insulet's full P&L

- Work with functional leadership across entire company to ensure all key drivers to the business case are defined, captured, and embedded within the financial analyses

• General / Other

- Involvement in long-term strategic plan and resource planning

- Backfill/cover for other team members as needed

- Special Projects: Participate in unique projects to drive strong financial results that would require system enhancements, complex financial modeling, and/or project management skills.

- Business Controls: Advocate for strong business controls and support Sarbanes-Oxley processes within Insulet. Partner with the accounting team to ensure that all expenses are reported as accurately and completely as possible.

- Assist in Tax reporting and various requests as needed

- Process & Design Improvement: Develop new standards for efficient and accurate financial reporting to help inform leadership expeditiously.

- Teamwork and Training: The person in this role should work well with the various team members in the department and the broader Insulet community.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. MBA is a plus.

• 5-10 years of financial planning and analysis experience. Prior experience in Med Tech / Life Science preferred.

• Proven track record as an effective financial business partner with a strong internal customer service focus

• Proven ability to learn new accounting & reporting tools.

• Proven ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

• Strong communication, presence, and relationship building skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to aid management in achieving strategic and operational goals.

• Analytical thinker with strong business acumen, ability to summarize complex financial data into clear and concise recommendations for strategic decision support

• Experience with tier-one ERP and Business Performance Management tools required, experience with Host/ Planful and or SAP / SAC a plus

• Excellent MS Excel and financial modeling skills are required

• Able to synthesize and analyze large quantities of data to create useful information and concise analyses.

• Able to effectively manage projects; results oriented and able to roll-up the sleeves in order to accomplish necessary tasks.

• Able to work in a fast pace, high-growth environment.

• Has highest standards of integrity reflected in all external and internal communications.

• Self-motivated, high energy, respectful, honest, hard-working and loyal team.

Physical Requirements:

• General office environment, may sit for long periods of time.

• May require 5-10% travel

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $96,700.00 - $145,300.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
