Campus Health (CH) is a multi-specialty ambulatory college health clinic providing quality, and affordable health care for eligible students and spouses. Annually, CH has more than 80,000 patient encounters, which includes Primary Care and Women's Health as well as specialty clinics in sports medicine, orthopedics, gynecology, physical therapy, counseling and psychological services, travel clinic and allergy clinic. Weekend acute care is provided from 8-5 PM. On site ancillary services include pharmacy, OTC pharmacy, Student Stores pharmacy, medical laboratory, and radiology.
Campus Health has been continuously accredited since 1986 by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. All personnel are trained in the concepts and principles of Performance Improvement and serve as team members and leaders in shaping and defining the organization as it strives to provide quality and safe care.
Campus Health collaborates with Student Wellness and Campus Recreation and other Student Affairs partners to provide education and outreach to assist in keeping the campus population healthy.
Education and research comprise another important function of CH. CH provides clinical rotations and practicums for students in the School of Education, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work and Public Health, Department of Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Health and Radiology. In addition, CH serves as a research site for a number of faculty and graduate student grants and contracts, where CH staff participates with the principal investigators across a variety of medical specialties.
The Clinical Nutrition Specialist is primarily responsible for oversight of CHS nutrition primary prevention programming activities and the provision of clinical nutrition counseling for students, post-doctoral fellows, and eligible spouses.
This position requires excellent clinical skills in the management of eating disorders and medical nutrition therapy for medical disorders including diabetes, hypertension, endocrine disorders, lipid disorders, and other medical nutrition disorders as well as skills in weight management counseling using a 'non-diet' approach. Candidate will also have experience working with various races, ethnicities, sexualities, and gender presentations.
This position will work closely with Student Wellness staff to promote nutrition programming activities including having an active presence on the Healthy Heels social media platform and working with student groups focusing on positive body image and other college eating concerns. There will be opportunities for teaching activities inside and outside the classroom. Member of the CHS Eating Disorder Team. Serving as a dietary/nutrition consult to the UNC Chapel Hill Campus Community.
In addition, this position will work with the Campus Health sports nutritionists and the Carolina Dining Services nutritionists to provide an integrated nutrition service delivery across campus.
Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition dietetics or public health nutrition; or completion of an ADA Dietetic internship with ADA Commission. Eligibility for Dietetic Registration preferred. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

- Must be a registered Dietician
Experience in providing nutrition education and one-on-one counseling including experience with eating disorder clients.
