The HR Marketing & Communications team leads the communication of Human Resources services and programs to Ohio State's 50,000 faculty and staff who are excited about what they do and inspired to contribute their best. This team is accountable for engaging university audiences with opportunities and resources in areas such as, but not limited to, benefits, HR policies, learning and development, wellness, talent acquisition, internal HR administration and campus-wide special events. The HR marketing and communication team helps Ohio State employees make the most of their careers at the university. The team also works collaboratively on various initiatives and committees throughout the university communications and marketing community.
The Marketing and Communications Manager (S3) position reports to the Office of Human Resources Director of Marketing and Communications. The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for carrying out strategy and managing the execution of communications plans to inform and engage faculty and staff. This includes general and initiative-specific communications to Ohio State faculty and staff at all levels of the organization.
The role is accountable for managing internal and external relationships to execute communications programming. Subject matter could include benefits, compensation, shared services, and institution-wide special recognitions. The work also includes managing outside vendor/supplier relationships as well as internal stakeholders and counterparts. A successful candidate for this position must be able to manage multiple, competing priorities and work with a diverse range of stakeholders well. The skill set of this individual must be multi-faceted ranging from planning to detail-oriented execution.
Responsibilities include writing for a myriad of stakeholder audiences; employee engagement; and consulting to influence and shape communication opportunities as well as accountability for distribution of communication working internally and with outside vendors to execute with excellence. Importantly, the successful candidate must have experience working across multimedia channels and have capability to develop multimedia materials.
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
4 years of relevant experience.
Desired Education/Experience:
4-8 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Experience with developing and executing communications programs.
Strong written and multimedia communication skills.
Experience in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities; working with cross-functional teams; ability to influence and lead with communication style. Familiarity with AP style and working within brand standards.
