This position is one of two Experiential Learning Consultants and will report to the Assistant Director (Experiential Learning) of the Career Center. This position will provide direct career and internship support for students through individual appointments, workshops, presentations, and other Career Center events, with a particular focus on engaging first, second, and third-year students who are seeking experiential learning opportunities. This position will have a particular emphasis on content development, oversight, and programming. This includes all internship relevant programming as well as management of the IPP Canvas page. Additionally, this individual will work with the Career Center’s Employer Relations Team to assist with securing employer speakers and presenters for events. The individual will co-champion internship program planning and will serve on the Career Center’s DiscoverU Day team. The Experiential Learning Consultant is responsible for supporting the work of the Assistant Director of the Career Center related to initiatives associated with the Internship Prep Program (IPP) and other experiential learning programming. This individual will also work with academic and Student Affairs partners as well as employers and students to accomplish the following: Communicate the value of all experiential learning initiatives offered by the Career Center; Meet with students individually to assist in their experiential learning search process; Present IPP workshops to undergraduate students; Articulate the functions of Career Center software platforms that support experiential learning (Handshake, Suitable, Career Ready Guide, etc.); Represent the IPP and Career Center to students, faculty, staff, and employers in a professional manner. |
Provides group and individual student coaching to foster professional development based upon updated market research and trends. Acts as resource and maintains network of professional external and University contacts to introduce student career opportunities. Promotes the career center and drives outreach. Serves to help with day-today administrative functions of the unit.

Position is primarily sedentary. Computer and technology usage necessary. On event or fair days mobility [including standing or] is needed as well as the ability to lift and/or carry 25 lbs.
