Job Description:
The Innovation Programme Lead will play a crucial role in enhancing Ferrovial's business unit stakeholders and identifying, developing and delivering innovation opportunities to drive business value across the full transversal landscape across Ferrovial. This role will be implementing innovative initiatives, supporting bidding processes, and establishing strategic relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders. This role requires close collaboration with various departments, including the broader innovation, IT, legal, commercial departments, to ensure the successful execution of projects. Additionally, the Innovation Manager will support the coordination and delivery of the Innovation Strategic Plan (ISP)
Key Responsibilities:
Support relevant Bidding Processes:
Provide local support to the bidding teams of Construction and Highways Business Units
Define opportunity areas to present to clients
Design initiatives to enhance technical requirements
Benchmark and establish relationships with local suppliers
Coordinate and assist between innovation team's areas
Implementation of Innovative Initiatives:
Develop PoCs & PoVs based on new technologies for relevant transversal and/or business unit areas of interest
Gain direct access to expertise and experimentation fields of new technologies in the US (and links back to other eco-systems in Spain/Europe)
Improve Highways and Construction operational processes contracts/concessions through innovative methodologies and technologies: e.g. automation, autonomy, behavioural....
Manage health & safety, sustainability, and other transversal projects across geographies
Development of New Business Models:
Support the Innovation Strategy & Innovation Insights team with continuous monitoring and assessment of technology trends and eco-system developments relevant to Ferrovial's current and future business including (but not limited to): Road User Charging (RUC), Digital Tolling, CAVs (Light Duty & Heavy Duty vehicles, construction equipment & plant), Robotics, Satellite monitoring
Generate monetization and business ideas and support Ferrovial Innovation Growth team
Presence in the Local Ecosystem:
Build relationships with key stakeholders in the US innovation ecosystem.
Gain access to valuable information and opportunities in the local market.
Qualifications:
Innovation and entrepreneurial mentality - with a pragmatic, collaborative & personal approach.
Experience in implementing innovative initiatives and new technologies.
Experience from Constructionfrom Construction & Highways sectors, including deep knowledge in one or more specific areas such as automation, autonomautonomy , satellites, connected autonomous vehicles, etc.
Strong leadership skills and proven track record of collaborative working across teams.
Strong understanding of the US market and regulatory environment.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Relevant advanced university degree (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
5-7 years of experience in innovation, technical or business development role in a corporate environment with a minimum of 2 years Construction and/or Highways related experience.
Experience of working with different types of organizations, including enterprise-scale organizations, start-ups, and JV structures incl. alliances and partnerships.
Experience of direct engagement with senior management (e.g., C-Level) both internal and external.
Working experience from a high-paced uncertain and changing market environment.
Excellent level of English and Spanish, ideally with international experience.
Additional investment/venturing training or experience is desirable.
Additional Information: This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker who can drive innovation and support the growth of Ferrovial's operations in North America and globally. The Innovation Manager will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of projects and the adoption of new business models.
