Position Summary:

Aleut Environmental Remediation is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Manager with extensive experience in managing environmental investigation and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of overseeing complex projects for federal clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining project scope, schedule, and budget.

Project Management: Lead and manage environmental investigation/remediation projects for federal clients, such as USAF and USACE Alaska District. Develop and maintain strict adherence to project scopes, schedules, and budgets while effectively managing resources to meet project deliverables. Ensure compliance with corporate, client and contract health and safety requirements.

Client Liaison: Meet and coordinate with clients and customers regularly, acting as the primary point of contact for client teams to foster strong relationships and ensure clear communication throughout project lifecycles.

Geographic and Logistics Coordination: Oversee projects across diverse locations, including Alaska (the Aleutian Islands, southeast, south-central, and northern regions) and the lower 48 states. Coordinate logistics for concurrent field projects, including subcontractor procurement and oversight and field staff scheduling.

Documentation and Reporting: Oversee the development of Work Plans and Reports for sampling, analyzing, and reporting concentrations of various contaminants and geochemical indicators in different media. Draft and submit essential documents to project stakeholders, including Uniform Federal Policy for Quality Assurance Project Plan (UFP-QAPP) work plans, Remedial Investigation reports, Feasibility Study Reports, and Technical Memorandums.

Field Operations: Plan and direct environmental field efforts, leading field teams.

Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Oversee and delegate technical tasks such as document preparation for various types of clients, ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards. Provide technical guidance and input on environmental projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Supervise and mentor junior engineers, scientists, and geologists, fostering professional development and technical growth.

Business Development: Spearhead business development and proposal tasks, including efforts to acquire new clients and programs. Lead proposal efforts, including developing technical approaches, cost estimates, etc.

Job Requirements of the Position:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field, with at least 8 years of experience performing management-related duties.
  • Knowledge of and experience with regulatory compliance, agency coordination, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.
  • Proven experience in environmental project management, particularly with federal clients.
  • Experience in Alaska is required.
  • Familiarity with the following areas is desired: ADEC Contaminated Sites, ADEC Solid Waste, CERCLA, and RCRA.
  • Experience collaborating with other subject-matter experts in a project team setting.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
