This position will support the WEG Transformers USA sites in Washington, Missouri, with some interaction with other WEG US sites: corporate office near Atlanta, Georgia, and other manufacturing sites in Minnesota, Indiana and Missouri.


About the Role: Accountant I

This entry to mid-level position offers a great growth opportunity for finance and accounting professionals. The role involves professional accounting work, including the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of G/L accounts.
  • Applying standard accounting practices to financial transactions.
  • Posting daily cash receipts, recurring journal, and payroll entries.
  • Assisting outside auditors and gathering account information for annual audits.
  • Verifying payment of invoices and ensuring proper account charges.
  • Assisting with collections of past due balances.

Requirements:

Basic:

4-year degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or 2 years of bookkeeping experience.

Experience with Microsoft Excel.

Ability to work within the WEG Code of Ethics & Values (WEG Code of Ethics, 4th Edition).

Must complete: Job interview, talent assessment, pre-employment drug screen, and background check.

Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington, MO.

Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Preferred:

Experience with SAP.

Certification through the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) or the Institute of Finance and Management (IOFM).

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
