Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
The Driver Resource Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Driver Welcome Center. The role will help ensure increased utilization of equipment on the yard, efficiency of navigating drivers through compliance issues, and improve the driver experience upon arrival and departure of the Driver Welcome Center.
· Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
· Track key performance metrics, such as total duration times, on-time departures percentages, and driver productivity.
· Work with Director and SVP to develop and execute initiatives aimed at improving driver satisfaction and operational efficiency, including technology adoption, process changes, and training programs.
· Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
· Oversee and improve the flow of incoming and outgoing trucks, ensuring drivers are promptly assigned tasks and resources.
· Maintain accurate log of belongings in driver storage and ensure no items are kept longer than 30 days.
· Lead process improvement projects and manage project timelines interdepartmentally and cross-functionally.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
· Perform necessary duties as needed to remove roadblocks and inefficiencies related to time spent in terminals by Professional Drivers.
· Create and maintain the seated truck list and open units’ reports.
· Assist drivers with paperwork and documents needed when seating a new truck.
· Keep accurate records of equipment and drivers needing/recovering/turning in equipment.
· Work with orientation to ensure correct lists of driver’s needs are accurate.
· Help expedite drivers’ time at the terminal.
· Assist in clearing expirations for drivers.
· Organize and manage driver storage area and ensure items left over 30 days are donated.
· Keep updated and accurate log of driver storage items.
· Be the first point of contact and assist drivers in getting what they need at the Chattanooga terminal and ensure they are communicating with their fleet managers.
· Ensure drivers receive proper load paperwork.
· Ensure load paperwork is organized and ready to go in outbound for loads at the Chattanooga terminal.
· Work in TMW to close out loads once drivers turn in load paperwork for loads dropped at Chattanooga terminal.
· Manages the matching of professional drivers based on region and long-term viability.
· Drives utilization out of the Chattanooga terminal.
· Communicates directly with Equipment Group to assign equipment to newly created teams.
· Communicate with experienced professional drivers through Covenant’s orientation program.
· Answers calls and emails in a timely manner to ensure timely resolution.
· Communicate newly created teams to fleet management.
· Strong interpersonal skills.

· Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA requirements.
· Strong project management skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

· Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment.
· Experience leading and coaching direct reports.
· Must be self-driven: able to work independently with little regulation.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or similar field required. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
· 2+ years fleet management experience required.

The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $52,270.86-$82,025.04
Pay Grade: 8
