Commerce's Legal Department is hiring an intern for Summer 2025 to learn more about the in-house legal work we do within Commerce Bank. You will support the Legal team in various project work, research, drafting, and shadowing opportunities across a range of legal topics. You will also have an opportunity to meet other interns through participation in Commerce's Internship Program. Essential Functions
Perform legal research and draft memorandum on a wide range of topics, including, banking, information technology, employment, and corporate governance
Review and summarize regulatory updates and guidance
Review department procedures and analyze for process improvements
Develop and implement procedural updates, as necessary
Participate in meetings with CBI Legal and business stakeholders
Review, draft and edit contract and other agreement templates
Review CBI Intellectual Property
Work with supervising attorneys supporting a variety of Bank lines of business
Report regularly on project progress
Capstone project and end of summer presentation with other interns in the Commerce Internship Program
Perform other duties as assigned
Work Schedule
Monday- Friday, 8:00am- 5:00pm
Mostly onsite

Ability to conduct thorough and accurate legal research using various resources, including statutes and regulations

Education & Experience
Currently enrolled law student in accredited degree program
