Description Overview Perrigo Nutritional’s, located in Georgia, VT, is looking for a Lead Packaging Operator to join their team on the 2-2-3 Night Shift. 2-2-3 Night Shift - 5:54pm - 6:06am (Requiring shift, weekend, and holiday work when applicable) Scope of the Role Reports to the Supervisor, the Lead Packaging Operator will be responsible for supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives to drive continuous improvements to the packaging lines. This position is responsible for performing quality checks as outlined in job specific Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring daily housekeeping and safety activities are completed. This position will also be responsible for other required SOP and cGMP compliance, training, providing direction to employees to resolve packaging problems, and to work with various support functions (i.e. Quality, Validation, Maintenance, etc.). Consistently follows Good Manufacturing Practices while maintaining an efficient, effective, safe, clean, and organized work area. Identifies and recommends improvements to the process. Performs line maintenance tasks such as line changeovers, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment and makes necessary adjustments to optimize equipment performance. Quality Checks: Performs necessary quality checks as directed by applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Documentation: Provides accurate and timely documentation of the packaging process as directed by applicable Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and/or ODR. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience Required A High School diploma (or GED) is required and will be verified prior to employment start date. Excellent attendance record and work history. A mechanical aptitude is preferred. A basic working knowledge of computers is required to perform necessary tasks such as finding and reading procedures (SOPs). The ability to write legibly for documentation. Basic math and reading/comprehension skills. Willing and able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to perform specific job duties per zoning requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 55 lbs. is required. Ability to walk up and down stairs as well as work at elevated heights and various climates (both hot and cold). Stand for approximately 90% of a 12 hour shift.
