The Senior Director of Enterprise Data Science & AI Delivery will report directly to the Global Chief Data Officer of Mars Snacking. This leader will be responsible for researching, developing, and executing the Snacking Segment's multi-year enterprise AI strategy.
This role requires an expert in situational leadership with a player-captain-coach mindset. Success in this position will be measured by functional and technical AI delivery expertise, thought leadership, strong emotional intelligence, and a passion for realizing the "AI Everywhere" vision through industry-leading data and AI adoption strategies
What are we looking for?
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or business analytics or related major with equivalent business experience. MBA/Master's degree preferred.
Proven 10+ years of experience in AI, Data Science, and Machine Learning
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven track record of planning and delivering successful, large-scale Data Science and AI initiatives.
Knowledgeable about the latest trends and technical developments in the Generative AI space.
Experienced in leading high-impact initiatives that span multiple companies, geographies, and functions.
Skilled in attracting, developing, and retaining data science and AI engineers.
Entrepreneurial and collaborative, able to navigate the evolving direction of programs and strategies.
Possesses strong executive presence and has effectively communicated AI-related ideas and program updates to executives (VP level and above), senior directors, and leaders in digital technology and business.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Global Chief Data Officer and other senior leaders to define and execute the "AI Everywhere" strategy for Mars Snacking.
Accountability: Strengthen, expand, and scale the data science and AI capability globally, including traditional AI and generative AI (Gen AI).
Prioritization: Oversee AI research and develop a framework for AI deployment and prioritization to ensure effective delivery and adoption. Align AI initiatives with the Enterprise Data Strategy and overall business objectives.
Collaboration: Work with members of the CDO Leadership Team and other senior leaders across the company to identify opportunities where AI can provide a competitive advantage, enhance experiences for associates, customers, and consumers, and optimize business operations
Talent Development: Develop internal technical talent and support external recruitment efforts focusing on functional domain upskilling and technical competencies in data science and AI.
Improve Awareness: Design and deliver engaging roadshows and campaigns to raise awareness and adoption of data and AI across Mars Snacking regions and functions. Establish and maintain a reputation that highlights Mars Snacking's AI capabilities and achievements at various Mars events and industry forums.
Innovation and Experimentation: Develop and lead the objective of continuous learning and innovating by institutionalizing AI Labs, AI refinery, AI Hackathons, and an annual AI Summit in the global HQ and the regions.
Responsible use of AI: Build and nurture a community of data science and AI practitioners within Mars Snacking, fostering a culture of innovation, ethical and responsible use of data for AI, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Technical excellence: Operationalize and manage large language models using platforms like Azure ML and Vertex AI, with a focus on prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and deployment. Address risks associated with large language models, such as bias, hallucination, prompt injection, and ethical concerns.
People Management: Lead the global team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and large language model engineers by providing technical guidance, coaching, and performance management.
Budget and Vendor Management: Manage the budget, resources, and vendors for data science and AI delivery to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
Leadership Flexibility: Provide up to 25% of ad-hoc support and strategic partnership in areas that require assistance as the CDO organization evolves and strengthens.
