In a non-sworn capacity, provides support to Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officers (FRLEOs) assigned to protect the facility, staff, and tenants.. Under immediate or general supervision, performs a variety of dispatch duties for emergency and non-emergency calls for service.. Dispatches FRLEOs to calls for service and operates a variety of security related systems and communications equipment such as access control, video surveillance, radio, telephone, and security related computer applications.. May perform other peripheral duties such as assisting with building evacuations, making access cards and/or taking reports for certain types of calls for service..
Key Responsibilities:
Exhibits a high level of proficiency in command center operations while monitoring all activities associated with the law enforcement Command Center, including the monitoring and operation of the two-way radio, telephone and dispatching law enforcement officers and other personnel to respond to incidents in and around the Federal Reserve property and or grounds. Monitors the facility for safety and security violations via security systems (video surveillance and access control) and reports findings. Serves as the initial point of contact for trouble-shooting and resolving problems with the security monitoring system.
Prepares logs, inputs data into security applications, completes daily reports, processes requests for access control card; operates the NCIC computer terminal, performs fingerprint and background checks, sending BOLO (be on the lookout) messages received regarding dangerous or wanted criminals to FRLEO’s; receive emergency or informational requests from officers and captures the request using an automated incident/event reporting application; maintains accurate records relating to computer transmissions as required by the governing agency for NCIC information. Reviews Command Center documents and logs for accuracy and completeness and elevate areas of concern to department management.
Keeps current on all procedures, policies, regulations, and rules while maintaining and operating the Command Center equipment in an orderly manner, posting required general information, keeping and filing records, materials and information. Processes, creates, and /or programs ID/proximity card badges, complete routine reports for non-emergency calls for service, assist with evacuations and other crisis response-related efforts. Controls pedestrian and vehicle access to the facility from the Command Center utilizing security systems. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties as needed and may assist with special projects.
Identifies process, workflow and policy improvements to enhance the efficiency of Command Center operations and works with department management to implement approved changes. Provides recommendations to management to influence operational/policy reviews.
As a subject matter expert, trains and mentors less tenured/experienced staff in Command Center operations and peripheral responsibilities including automated systems
Maintains proficiency in First Aid, CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator), by successfully completing in-service training in these areas.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 2+ years of operations center and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
Knowledge Areas:
Knowledge of Law Enforcement authority as defined in the Uniform Regulations for FRLEOs
Communications Center operations
Technical Skills:
PC/MS Applications (Word, Excel, PPT)
Certifications/Licenses:
First Aid/CPR
