Our client is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join their renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the structural design of foundations and ancillary structures for utility-scale wind, solar, transmission line, and substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Design structural foundations and ancillary structures for renewable energy projects.
Prepare and direct structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
Review and approve project submittals and RFIs.
Support field activities during construction.
Provide professional and technical support to multiple projects.
Collaborate with internal and external Project Managers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
EIT/FE or PE required; S.E. registration is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of structural engineering experience.
Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318).
Knowledge of shallow and deep foundations, including spread footings, slab-on-grade, piles, and concrete caissons.
Experience with connection and anchorage design (cast-in-place, post-installed, welds, high-strength bolts).
Proficiency in steel member design (wide flange, channel, pipe, plate, angle sections).
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
Proficiency with structural engineering software (Mathcad, STAAD, RISA, Enercalc, LPile) is a plus.
Knowledge of bridge design and evaluation is a plus.
Background in geotechnical engineering, solar and wind energy, transmission and distribution, and substations is a plus.
AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills.
Attention to detail and quality control.
Sound engineering judgment.
Effective time and workload management skills.
Minimal travel required.
