The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations. This role will require strong leadership, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the food industry. The Director will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
Operational Management:
Oversee all aspects of food operations, including production, quality control, logistics, and supply chain management.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and industry best practices.
Manage and optimize operational costs, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses.
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of operations professionals.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members to achieve their goals.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the food industry.
Develop and implement strategies to expand market share and increase revenue.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute effective go-to-market plans.
Financial Performance:
Develop and manage budgets for the food division.
Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
Analyze financial data to make informed business decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in food science, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in food operations management.
Proven track record of success in leading and managing food manufacturing operations.
Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong financial acumen and analytical abilities.
Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and industry best practices.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Education Skills
Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience with ERP systems and other operational software.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
