Position: Senior Data Scientist
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Responsible for overall driver supply prediction and management, including developing data pipelines to improve transparency, prototyping time series models for prediction, and generating onboarding requests based on an understanding of driver engagement and supply. Design and implement algorithms and build optimizers for driver pricing restructure. Within the Trust and Safety pillar, develop and manage alert systems to monitor driver abuse and missing orders to prevent different types of abuse ahead of time. Improve data pipelines to boost the frequency and precision of model updates. Assist business stakeholders in pinpointing actions to better the delivery process and boost the overall experience for Spark's customers. Create effective reporting and dashboards to generate appropriate graphical representations of data and model outcomes.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics or related field.
Skills required: Experience building machine learning models using Python and applying data science and statistical knowledge of parametric and non-parametric distributions. Experience working on analysis and modeling techniques, selecting the best fit for structured and unstructured data, and developing custom models to generate insights that drive value for our customers. Experience predicting supply using time series models. Experience building real time supply health systems using machine learning techniques. Experience designing algorithms to detect driver abuse and missing orders. Experience building optimizers to improve pricing structure and algorithm to make pay fair and attractive for drivers. Experience automating tasks and developing processes that monitor, analyze, and continuously improve model performance and accuracy. Experience applying statistical methods and advanced modelling techniques to monitor performance of ML platform services. Experience collaborating with team members to facilitate communications across different functions of the broader team. Experience conductingexploratoryanalysisincluding hypothesis testing,statistical inference, and statistical analysis. Experience partnering with business and technical stakeholders to translatechallenging retailbusiness problemsintostate-of-the-art data sciencesolutions. Experience developing processes and toolsthatmonitor,analyze,and continuously improvemodel performance and data accuracy. Experience maintaining and querying from databases using SQL. Experience analyzing underlying trends and data distributions in order to identify user pain points and recommend improvements to the product team. Experience creating effective reporting and dashboards by applying expertise in data visualization (using Python libraries, GGplot, Matplotlib, and Tableau) to generate appropriate graphical representations of data and model outcomes. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $138,911/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
