About the Opportunity:
JOB PURPOSE:
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor - Weld & Grind supervises the Weld & Grind departments and provides leadership while working in collaboration with multi-shift Supervisory team. They ensure safe and productive processes are in place while focusing on teammate development to support the quality standard of the customer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Safety
Trains to and enforces policies regarding safety requirements
Participates as an active member of ERT and/or Safety Committee
Develops and implements Standard Work for safety
People
Trains to and enforces all company policies
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving problems
Primary trainer of Level 4 Board
Develops and implements Standard Work for process methods
Quality
Trains to and enforces policies regarding Quality Standards
Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines
Develops and implements Standard Work for quality of product
Responsiveness
Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials
Consults with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
Coordinates and communicates work schedules with all departments to ensure optimum schedule adherence
Cost
Trains to and enforces policies regarding work procedures
Develops and implements Standard Work for production methods
Leads Department Continuous Improvement Team meetings
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs activities of workers supervised
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
2 to 5 years Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
2 to 5 years experience in welding and/or grinding
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Capable of deciphering specifications, drawings, blueprints, and job orders
Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred
Able to work with time constraints and meet deadlines
