Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Manager with experience in the chemical manufacturing industry. As the Project Manager you will be responsible for managing small facility-based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant as part of that plant's capital project's group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that clear and complete scopes, schedules, and budgets are prepared and accepted by the client for assigned projects.
Develops and documents the execution plan for each project which is scaled to the size and complexity of that project.
Determines the resources needed by the project to execute it efficiently.
Is responsible for applying sound engineering practices.
Provides guidance to the project team to accomplish the scope of work and achieve project goals, schedule milestones and cost & quality objectives.
Responsible for prompt recognition, documentation, and communication of scope and design changes and for client authorization prior to scope changes.
Maintains and tracks scope, schedule, cost, and quality trends throughout the project.
Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all deliverables and services provided by the project.
Holds regular project meetings and communicates regularly to keep all team members and project stake holders up to date on the status of the project, progress against milestones, costs, schedule progress, and other critical or contractual items.
Work with onsite and external construction and maintenance contractors to assure that projects are completed as intended.
Has responsibility for project completion, including quality of deliverables, and closeout.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, with 5+ years of industry related experience (Project Manager experience preferred).
Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices such as cost control, estimating, scheduling, and forecasting.
Able to plan and organize projects from inception to start up.
Ability to work in and foster a strong team environment with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of chemical or related manufacturing facilities and integration of project work in these facilities.
Strong safety champion who will lead the project in achieving zero incidents and injuries.
Self-motivated/Self-directed.
Able to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of gated work process for project management.
Good negotiation skills.
Good meeting facilitation skills.
Good working knowledge of the procurement process.
Strong working knowledge of SAP Project Systems Module (preferable).
Knowledge of ASME, API, AISC, PIP, ASCE, RAGAGEPs, and other pertinent engineering standards.
