JOB DESCRIPTION



Wood is currently recruiting for a talented Lead Electrical Engineer / Consultant - Clean Energy to join our diverse team of professionals. Ideally, the role will be seated inour Austin, TX or Atlanta, Georgia offices, but we will consider qualified applicants from any American city where Wood has a local office.

The Lead Electrical Engineer / Consultant - Clean Energy will oversee all electrical engineering scopes of work supporting the delivery of multidisciplinary projects through their feasibility, pre-construction and/or construction phases. She/He will act as Wood's Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical engineering, managing projects as a technical advisor and/or Owner's Engineer. This role will have a focus on all Clean Energy technologies including but not limited to solar, BESS, onshore and offshore wind, long duration storage and hybrid projects.



RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Your primary responsibilities will focus upon providing advisory and design solutions for clean energy project development and technical delivery as part of the clean energy team.
  • You will collaborate with our Technical Leadership, Operations, Client Account Managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm.
  • Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and manage large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery.
  • Add value, avoid/resolve issues, mitigate risks and manage project's finances and contracts by applying robust project management practices and experience from previous projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Support a team of multi-disciplined specialists to design, develop and deliver clean energy projects with a specific focus on the electrical aspects of project development..
  • Ensuring health, safety and environmental considerations are integral to the delivery of projects and project tasks.
  • Contribute to business development activities and assist in securing new opportunities for the company.
  • Participation at site visits and meetings in the USA and abroad.
  • Disseminate knowledge and experiences to other team members and supporting the development of the team and team members.





QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PE license in power preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with electrical engineering and power production
  • At least 8 years of design, consulting, or operations experience working with clients, service providers, contractors, OEMs, Owner/Developers, Lenders or regulators in the energy field
  • You'll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships and win work, and then deliver innovative solutions providing value to both the client and provider.
  • Ability to work independently on a large array of tasks while providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Demonstrated ability for higher level strategic, exploration, concept, and development planning for new project opportunities, including knowledge and application of new and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated skills on concept and developed design optimization programs to guide sound technical guidance for decision making
  • Ability to prepare high quality, concise documents to convey project progress, status and financial information to internal and external project stakeholders
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) in English, with the abilty to engage and interface with stakeholders; bilingualism (or a proficiency in Spanish) a strong asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Electrical Engineering standards, best practices and safety regulations
  • Valid driving licence for use within USA
  • Willingness for occasional domestic travel (up to 20%)
  • Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood
