The At-Risk Master Teacher provides supplementary instructional support to the schools in order to meet Texas Compensatory Education requirements including reducing any disparity in performance on assessment instruments administered under Texas Education Code (TEC), Subchapter B, Chapter 39, or disparity in the rates of high school completion between students at risk of dropping out of school and all other students

This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
Review school data to identify learning trends, prioritize areas of support, and create a plan to address learning gaps.
Create exemplar model lesson libraries, prioritizing needs based on school data.
Regularly attend teacher professional learning communities (PLC) to address/gather specific departmental needs.
Create professional development recordings to demonstrate quality lesson facilitation in a virtual setting.
Model teaching through observation, team teaching, as needed from the Instructional Coaching team for material delivery/content expertise.
Develop teachers to more effectively work through the planning, instruction, assessment, analysis, and adjustment loop; and working with campus leadership on calibration and understanding what learning looks like in a variety of settings.
This position may perform other duties as assigned in alignment with the SCE program. Duties this position may not perform:
Duties related to testing, such as test administration.
Activities related to formal teacher evaluations, including TTESS-related activities.
Activities undertaken in the role of parent liaison, community liaison, truant officer, safety officer, or court liaison required by TEC, 37.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in education or related field AND
Five (5) years of successful teaching experience including experience as a virtual teacher OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses: Valid appropriate state certification.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
Proven ability in using student-level data to guide instructional decisions
Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise
Highly effective interpersonal skills (written and oral communication, problem-solving, conflict management, collaboration) to share research-based instructional approaches and provide advice, mentoring, and coaching to teachers and administrators
Strong critical thinking skills
Strong attention to details, organizational and planning skills
Flexibility and adaptability
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Ability to quickly master any necessary web and web-based applications
Ability to travel 20% of the time
Ability to clear required background check
