A growing construction company in Carroll County, Maryland is seeking a qualified Purchasing Specialist
Responsibilities
Purchases materials for all projects daily.
Purchases office supplies for office and field personnel.
Tracks commodities for every job.
Purchases steel, custom boxes, and rebar cages for all jobs.
Orders Concrete.
Tracks and Orders Rentals.
Resolve delivery and backorder issues for each project and the warehouse.
Negotiate terms and pricing with vendors.
Assist Accounting Department with reconciling invoice discrepancies.
Utilize ERP software to create, modify and record purchase orders.
Maintain vendor contact list.
Seek improvements to enhance efficiency and purchasing strategies for the organization.
Work closely with Safety Manager to ensure all purchased PPE is approved for use.
Assist Purchasing Manager with material costing and improvements to current purchasing strategies.
Maintain all applicable spreadsheets assigned by Purchasing Manager.
File packing slips in accordance with established standard operating procedure and retention schedule.
Assist Purchasing Manager with assigned special projects.
Assist Warehouse Team with inbound and outbound deliveries, when needed.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or electrical sales role, preferred.
