Job Description Summary


This position will have multi-faceted, strategic, and operational responsibilities within the CRCU and CCEB. This position will have primary responsibility to define and direct all activities within the CRCU. This position will also be responsible to ensure collaboration between operational entities in the CRCU and investigators and the CCEB broadly for the effective completion of the CRCU mission. This position will report directly to the CCEB Director and Faculty Director of the CRCU and will function in collaboration with CRCU Associate Directors to further the mission of the CRCU and to foster operational success.




Job Description





Job Responsibilities



  • Provide strategic leadership for the CRCU including operations, analysis, development, usage and integration of policies and procedures. Oversee strategic partnerships with key constituent groups, such as clinical departments, the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics (DBEI), and CHOP

  • Develop and implement short and long-term CRCU/CCEB strategic plans and agendas. Oversee the financial health of the CRCU, assisting with and overseeing development of 3 year projections and funding plans.

  • Provide overall operational leadership for CRCU focusing on effective management of projects and resources including personnel and infrastructure.

  • Work with the CRCU Faculty Director and CCEB Director for coordinating the compilation and dissemination of information for projects spanning the CRCU and CCEB.

  • Initiate, develop and coordinate proposals, programs, grants and projects involving the activities of the CRCU and other CCEB Units.

  • Liaison with School and Institutional faculty/staff in the development of programs and projects involving the resources of the CRCU.

  • Provide consultation on project proposals: provide input on CRCU services that are relevant to proposals and input on design. Serve as statistical consultant and/or design consultant as needed. Oversee and assist in development of grant and manuscript sections relevant for CRCU contributions.

  • Responsible to negotiate project scope and budget issues with investigators and ensure completion of work to agreed upon terms.

  • Lead focused teams of senior staff that work directly with project investigator to identify appropriate project scopes and budgets in view of post award funding constraints.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned






Qualifications



  • Masters degree or PhD in Data Sciences or Life Sciences and 7 to 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • Preferred 7+ years of experience accompanied by demonstrated knowledge and competency in multidisciplinary basic science and clinical research environments.

  • Specialized experience managing professional technical staff.

  • Experience with development of process and practices that allow organization-wide, standardized practice of these disciplines.

  • Experience in the interpretation and application of complex standards and federal regulations related to clinical research and trials, computer systems, data management, technical staff, etc.

  • Experience to effectively analyze, prepare and present complex information to senior administration (internal) and advisory boards (internal and external to institution).

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of faculty, staff and administrative personnel
