Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Duties: The candidate will act as a research specialist and will work on projects analyzing mouse and human immune cells using multi-dimensional single cell analysis tools. Samples will come from animal studies as well as clinical studies and trials. As a result, the research assistant will collaborate with the laboratory team on various projects. The candidate will be required to work independently, collaboratively, possessing strong writing, presentation and analytical skills. He/She will be responsible for 1) data collection using multiparameter flow cytometry and mass cytometry (CyTOF), 2) assisting in the operation and maintenance of flow cytometry equipment in the laboratory, 3) development of immunostaining procedures and analytical tools, 4) management of data files, 5) data analysis, and 6) development of presentations and reports displaying results. The candidate will also be involved as necessary in the analysis of RNA transcriptome analyses and serum/plasma analyses (e.g. ELISA). The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic/motivation, meticulous organizational skills, solid computational skills, and strong social/communication skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. A Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences is preferred. Experience with general techniques in cellular biology, histology, and flow cytometry is preferred. Outstanding computer and communication skills are preferred. Meticulous record keeping skills are essential for this position.
