GDH Consulting is hiring a highly skilled and motivated Securities Services Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. This critical role is primarily focused on transactional processing supporting Wealth Management accounts, ensuring the accurate and timely handling of securities, trade execution, and settlement among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams such as Wealth Management, Operations & Technology, as well as external entities to maintain and enhance account accuracy and performance. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial stability and growth of our clients, leveraging advanced analytical and organizational skills in a high-volume operations environment.
Responsibilities
Ensure timely, accurate completion of security transactions and daily processes within policy guidelines, resolving discrepancies to prevent financial losses.
Balance and reconcile daily activity between depositories and accounting systems, ensuring accurate and timely fund movement.
Develop, implement, and utilize process improvements while maintaining strong controls to mitigate risk.
Apply knowledge of securities processing and Wealth Management to define, visualize, measure, analyze, improve, report, and control processes to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Resolve complex issues in a timely manner to minimize losses; provide support to auditors, compliance, account officers, and investment managers.
Recommend procedures for securities processing; participate in account conversions, user group meetings, and provide input on project requirements and process improvements.
Test and document reports necessary for operations and strategic decisions, contributing to requirements development and system maintenance.
Work proactively to identify solutions or resources for project completion and exception processing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
1-4 years of experience in a high-volume securities operations environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced PC and software application skills.
Exceptional research, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to manage large volumes of transactions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and gain consensus among conflicting interests.
Working knowledge of a broad variety of securities and Wealth Management accounting systems.
Familiarity with accounting principles and practices, especially in reconciliation and detail-oriented tasks.
General understanding of trust and/or bond accounting knowledge is preferable.
Proven ability to solve complex problems independently and meet stringent deadlines.
Leadership ability and professional etiquette.
